Hi, I’m Leon Ari (he/him). I’m a Counsellor, Senior Social Worker and Youth
worker with more than fifteen years of experience supporting adults,
adolescents and families. I am a highly proficient clinician who provides a
warm, supportive and confidential environment.
I work with people to resolve traumatic life events, learn about and accept
themselves, and explore their potential. I also provide counselling outreach
services to a specialist Mental Health high school and an Aboriginal
Community primary school, where I work alongside students with complex
needs and young people aged 12-24 years. I am a LGBTQIA+ affirming
therapist.
I place emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and its power to heal and
transform. I have extensive experience in and draw from a range of
psychotherapeutic approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS),
Somatic and Schema therapy, to create a personalised response that guides
you on your individual therapeutic journey. Your therapy will be tailored to suit
your emotional and life needs.
In my experience, transformation happens less from driving an agenda to
change, but through an acceptance and exploration of you as you are. My
approach is less about “doing to” and more about “being with” – meeting you
where you are, supporting and guiding you back to your Self.
I understand how difficult it can be to seek help, especially finding a therapist
that’s a right fit, so please feel free to contact me to discuss how I can support
you. I look forward to supporting you on your journey and welcome you to
connect with any questions or enquiries.
